Modern cross-stitches

Oh, I like these. Cross-stitches go 2000. Reminds me of those embroideries by grandma. Gry Fager livens up an old tradition with these stylish pieces. So typical of the 21st century. Why would we sew when we can make the same on the computer?
See more here.

It is something about...

...Svenskt Tenn. Love the pattern in the black cushions above. Reminds me of that I have the same textile in my cupboard and need to create a pillow of it as soon as the Christmas holidays are here...

Otherwise thinking too much about wall art right now. I have such difficulties to hang something on my newly painted, fresh, white walls... All those holes if you regret or change your mind... Leaning is one idea, but that also takes some space from the sideboard.

Anyway, have a cosy Sunday!

Cosy Christmas

I started the morning by reading a fashion magazine and the horoscope said:
The Christmas will be nice and cosy in a homelike way. You concentrate on being together rather than on a huge amount of presents.
I left out "...a table loaded with Christmas food and drink" as it sounded so boring to be without that.
No, I do not trust horoscopes but if they are nice I do. The food and get-together emphasis sound nice. And I am sure it will be special and very enjoyable and homelike during Christmas. All things after the moving are soon in place and I can just curl up with warm socks in the sofa, eat peanuts and marmelade and burn candles.
But anyway. Wish lists need to be done. I do not have a clue right now. But here is at least one version. It might change still...Enjoy!

Weekend mood

In the mood for mood boards.
Here comes my inspiration for this weekend.
I am cleaning (phew), thinking about lamps,
decorating with lemons, as well as enjoying the free days
 (exercise and fresh air)...

Autumn smiles...

Mood board
All that inspires me this autumn. Jeans, dark colours and streaks of gold.
And always in the mood for pink.

Retro details

I like this kitchen with the happy retro details. Once again I am reminded of what a design treasury Finland is when it comes to kitchen details and tableware. The old Hackman saucepan with vegetables and Arabia bowl with mushrooms are rarities and quite costly at the flea markets today, but brand new saucepan look-alikes are also produced if you want to copy the feeling (see here). Quite near the original ones by Esteri Tomula. Also the kitchen towels in retro style are quite easy to find nowadays.
Quite funny also that the upper row of cupboards is old, whereas the lower row is modern. Yes, why not mix everything? Just dare to!

Take care and listen to this beautiful song.

Tuesday mood

My Tuesday inspiration.
Oh, the brass-studded fruit above reminds me of my bad luck at the flea market event this summer. You know the feeling when you see something and reach ten seconds too late. The mother and girl bought them for 5 euros each. Equally nice although they were in silver.

My mood board for September... I love summer most of course, but nevertheless autumn is special, too. My birthday comes up soon and it is, so to say, my season, but I also find it cosy in the autumn to get back to the routines, wear long trousers again, light the lamps as well as candles inside, curl up in the sofa corner and read something good, follow new TV-series and start afresh with new ideas and strength after the summer. The air is crispy and it is easier to exercise outside when it is not too hot. I have decided to be the health self this autumn, take long walks and run a lot and also try new interesting recipies more often...What about you?

 Own mood board
No, I am not sad. I just like the cool hand-writing above.
And chocolate, pink and green plants.
They say that to plant something is to believe in tomorrow.
The green house from Design House Stockholm is so cute, isn't it?
Days are rushing. My friends' wedding (it was so fun and nice) and
plans for my new home. Summer, please stay...

Postkorten kan färgläggas och ramas in! Coola!
Håller med om att art and fun är en ny (vägg)trend som motvikt till
alla citat och foton som cirkulerat ett tag. Eller vad tycker du?
Gäsp. Gonatt mina vänner. Vi hörs en annan dag!
Today's inspiration
Just like  Frida I will look for the plant Pilea peperomioides.
Sweet, isn't it? Round leaves!

The postcards can be coloured and framed! Cool!
I just agree that art and fun is a new (wall) trend as counterweight to all
quotes and photos that have circulated lately. Or what do you think?
Zzzz. Good night my friends! See you again another day!

My absolute terrace favourites!
I like the wooden beds Riviera from Trip Trap (see picture above).
Source of inspiration / Bo Bedre. Always.

Saturday plans

Mood board by me
dagens inspirationsbilder
today's inspiration
Soon off for picnic in the 18th century herb and flower garden, with games, friend-quiz, and if it does not rain, town orienteering to meaningful spots, as well as ABBA dance and dinner... All for our friend who is soon getting married! It does not rain, so it looks promising!
Have a nice day!

I am so much into cognac-coloured leather right now. Stripes. Summer. And June.
I hope you are also enjoying the sun and the weekend.
< Happy Friday! >

Patterns + shapes

Own collage

Dagens inspiration.
That's it!
Today's inspiration. I am sold on vases with nice patterns, bowls with unusal shapes, odd chairs and lights. I would like to find a similar fruit bowl as the black one!
Oh, what a heat wave we have got! From cold nights to suddenly 40 degrees in the sun! Just like Greece...The wardrobe shouts that I have to shop summer clothes but the only thing I do is lie in the sun and read magazines (and get a lot of ideas)... During the weekend I have to relax, no musts, after all hectic days. Enjoy the sun and watch the Eurovision. That's it!

Have a nice weekend!

Smiling sun

A mood board with things that inspire me at the moment.
Healthy meals, coloruful pink flowers, curved taps and different shades of blue.
Jeans, rocking chair and the lovely plate with the smiling sun, which is designed in honour of
The plate would be suitable for tired mornings at the breakfast table, don't you think?
Hope you are all well. I have had some days with funny cultural events (concerts, stand-up comedy et cetera) as well as a relaxed weekend as counterweight to my long working days lately.
Detective stories, gym, friends and relatives.
Have a nice new week!

Perfect tones

My latest Pinterest inspiration. Somehow all matched so good together so I just had to cut and paste into a collage. Kitchen inspiration in a nutshell. I love the pink flower in the old pot mixed with the modern white Danish bowl and the pale blue marble kitchen.

Finnish designed tableware

1 Iittala, Sarjaton
2 Marimekko, In good company
3 Marimekko, Tasaraita
4 Marimekko, Pallo
5 Iittala, Mariskooli
6 Iittala, Teema

When I buy tableware it is almost always, without hardly any exceptions, Finnish design. Iittala, Arabia and Marimekko. Simply because I think there is nothing else that compares to them. I have the whole white (+ black, too) series of Teema that I think is perfect to use either as it is, or, randomly mixed with other items and colours that fit my mood that day.

The first glasses I bought many, many years ago when I left home for studying were the Kaj Franck glasses in different colours. Nowadays I think they are a bit too small, but are perfect for children and I would never ever give them away for any reason, although the colours are not exactly what I would buy today.

When I was younger Mariskooli was not very popular. I referred to it as something that grandmothers had jelly fruits in and liked. But yes, I changed my mind. It is perfect for serving cookies, candies, nuts or jam!

And not the least. I find it just a perfect idea that Finnair and Marimekko have started a cooperation. Finnish design and tableware on Finnish flights, that's just obvious and the way I think it is ought to be!
